39 Years as a Babysitter, Caregiver and Nanny - Jen is the oldest of 4 children and helped raise her siblings from infancy. Cloth diapers and all! (...and the huge, scary safety pins - ouch!) During her college years Jen was a nanny and often traveled with families who needed her help on the road, in airports, on planes & in hotel rooms/cruise ships.

I studied child development and child psychology in college. I enjoy keeping children entertained by helping them stay busy, happy and content with fun activities, arts & crafts, story telling, educational toys & puzzles and of course coloring books! I speak some Spanish & a little Italian. I am fluent in baby sign language! CPR trained. I enjoy reading story books, arts & crafts, singing silly songs ♪ ♫ ♬ playing games, bubbles, treasure hunts, drawing and making up fun songs on my ukulele. I provide nutritious meals and healthy snacks, while having endless fun & exploring engaging activities with your children. I love taking children on fun outings to the library, museums, the park, the zoo, swimming lessons. (...as you can see by all my fun profile photos!) I do not believe in punishment or hitting nor spanking nor physical discipline. Only rewarding, positive reinforcement! (...and a hug for encouragement to do better next time!) Little or no "vegging" in front of the tv. Lots of exercise, walks and outdoor activities, (I like to call 'em "outdoor adventures"!)

I sincerely understand! I have 35 years of working experience as a baby-sitter and 25 years as a nanny! Working with various ages of newborns, toddlers, children, teens as well as special needs/physical disabilities! Behavioral issues and separation anxiety will not scare me away. Twins/multiples are a breeze! The more the merrier! I have outstanding childcare references and a verifiable legal back ground check. During college I was an instructor for children's swim lessons at the YMCA and was also a summer sports coach as well as a Sunday school teacher. I graduated from High School with honors and a perfect attendance award! No senior skip day for this girl! During college I was on the honor roll for maintaining a high GPA (grade point average) and I was also on the Dean's List. I was rewarded a scholarship which helped me further my studies in music. In 2004-2005 I worked for a baby proofing home safety products & installation company! (cabinet locks, baby gates, toilet latches, pool fences etc.) I like to spend my spare time volunteering at The Children and Family Center: (a foster home/24-hour emergency shelter care facility operated and owned by Social Services Agency, for children who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected.) I am English speaking, a non-smoker, military raised - punctual and polite, well mannered. (I went to charm school and was tutored in proper etiquette, poise, character, attitude, manners and public conduct!) Do I carry around a magic umbrella like Mary Poppins? Nah! (...well... maybe on rainy days.) I just truly love to spend time with children and to watch them learn and grow. I'm always singing silly songs, exploring on treasure hunts, playing games & interacting with babies and children of all ages. I am very attentive and alert! (I am not the typical teeny-bopper teenaged baby sitter who sits in front of the tv texting on the phone all day long!) I am extraordinarily vigilant, always giving 100% attention to your children - at all times! Even after they are safely tucked in bed and asleep for the night! Baby monitors are my best friend, but I do hourly peek-ins and check to see that the covers are still snuggly and cozy!

♥ I'm updated on my medical records and shots, have had recent medical examination - very healthy! Non smoker. (...yes I mentioned that already!) Free of any diseases. Happily married. I love pets too! (I'm also available for pet sitting and house sitting while you are away - see my petsitting profile here on this Sitter City website) Always happy to do house-work, laundry, cooking, cleaning! Errands and child transportation upon request. Rest assured your children are in loving, caring and VERY capable hands! I always keep a journal/daily log of your child's activities throughout the day (ie: snacks, meals, naps, bm's, tantrums and "owies"...) Feel free to leave notes and instructions for your child's specific needs. (allergies, medications, chores, homework, etc.) Please provide emergency contact phone numbers and information to reach you or a neighbor or family member while you are out. I will be happy to provide lists of phone numbers for your local emergency info: poison control center, emergency room, paramedic, ambulance, police, fire dept.
♥ I am available for over night stays, extended childcare, long weekends, in-room hotel sitting services and I'm willing to travel with your family on trips, vacations and visits to your summer home or winter get-away! Flexible schedule - Available to meet with you in person before the actual baby-sitting date. Keep my number and e-mail handy in case you ever need someone last minute to watch your little ones for date nights and weekends! I understand your need to get out for some "adult time" now and then!
